Refined Modern

In our latest design, a little vision led to a lot of stunning views. Our client was considering selling their San Francisco pied-a-terre in favor of new construction. We came in to provide a second opinion and immediately envisioned what it could be—an elegant, modern retreat with first-class views of the bay. That said, we knew we would need to do a complete gut remodel to accomplish the kind of results we wanted. We got to work on a total redesign, re-imagining and updating the layout of the entire space. We designed custom cabinetry and furniture throughout, layering quiet elegance into every room. We let the views take center stage and complemented them with a variety of neutral textiles and textures. We added both color and intrigue with gorgeous Indian rugs, one of which is crafted out of vintage saris. Thassos flooring, Phillip Jeffries wallpaper, art by John Mayberry and beautiful custom window treatments add just the right amount of visual luxe. And we even devised a way to bypass the complex infrastructure of a high-rise to install a freestanding tub in the master bathroom.

Our client is thrilled with their “new” home away from home, spending far more time there now—working, entertaining and getting away from life at sea level.
